About My Clients

We all have moments where we reach a problem and we ask ourselves "How do I get through this?" or "What should I do?" In my work, I place emphasis on resiliency, hope, and discovering solutions that work in your life. My clinical experience includes treatment of depression, anxiety and assisting with difficult life transitions. I am passionate about providing a safe, healing space for communities of color to process the impact of the ‘isms (racism, sexism, ageism, genderism, etc.).

My Background and Approach

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in California. I received my Master's degree in Counseling with specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from San Diego State University in 2012. I believe in empowering clients so they can live their best lives which includes, developing nurturing and healthy relationships, self-awareness, confidence, and purpose. My approach to therapy is collaborative and client- centered. I draw from Solution-Focused principles and Narrative Therapy practices to support you in re-writing your personal story and overcoming the challenges that keep you feeling stuck. Using these frameworks, I am able to see my clients separate from their problems– privileging their values, strengths, skill sets, and resources

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My clinical experience includes the treatment of depression, anxiety, co-occurring disorders, and the ‘isms (racism sexism, ageism, genderism, etc.). My vision includes ending the stigma in BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) communities regarding seeking mental health services, by increasing access, awareness and visibility. My experience as a clinical supervisor has provided me with the opportunity to continue outreach, training and mentorship efforts for other clinicians of color. I am committed to embracing diversity and I believe that working and collaborating with others intentionally to create a space that is inclusive of diverse individuals is a catalyst for change on a broader scale. It is a courageous choice to seek therapy and I strive towards making therapy a meaningful, healing experience.
