We can address relationship issues solo or with a partner in couples' counseling. I will assist you with exploring and identifying patterns that lead to conflict and dysfunction. We will also develop skills to adaptively work through disagreements and even prevent them by building communication skills.

Although depression does have biological components, there are cognitive and behavioral aspects, as well. I believe in working with clients from a holistic approach to address not only maladaptive thought/behavioral patterns, but also assess the 8 dimensions of wellness and attend to ones that have been neglected.

We will use a variety of cognitive behavioral therapy tools such as identifying triggers, challenging/reframing thoughts, and mindfulness techniques to address anxiety.

I provide psychoeducation on attachment styles and assist clients with moving from anxious, anxious/avoidant, and avoidant to a secure attachment. We will also examine childhood events and more recent relationships to determine how these experiences play a role in the current attachment styles.

Sometimes clients would rather not spend sessions doing deep dives into childhood and past experiences. They would rather discuss a current problem and create concrete goals and objectives to seek solutions. I often use this orientation with clients that are using an EAP and they have a limited amount of sessions.
