About My Clients
I serve all populations and encourage diversity in my practice, however I specialize in working with clients who identify with Asian/South Asian culture. My clients have experienced some form of emotional, physical, sexual or familial trauma(s) in their lifetime and have struggled with solidifying a confidence in their identity as a result. My clients struggle with deep feelings of shame, anger towards self/others, and intense self-criticism or perfectionism.
My Background and Approach
We explore a specific identity map that is unique to each client and build a treatment plan based on your individual needs. My approach is always nonjudgmental and I ask questions with intention to build our therapeutic relationship. We can take several routes in your healing journey: - Healing the inner child - Defeating the inner critic and building deep self-compassion - Post Traumatic Growth - Processing grief & loss - Mindfulness based stress reduction and as always, these are larger concepts that will be integrated throughout weekly sessions. Sometimes it may feel like you and I are just talking and exploring different areas of your life, I will help you connect it to the bigger picture as you do the work!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that trauma is at the root of individual/family/community issues - trauma that is unexplored and invalidated can lead to issues in self and cultural identity, conflict in relationships and an overall lack of self-love. My mission as a therapist is to validate and hold space for you to discuss your traumatic experiences while also focusing on your healing and building a life that feels worth living.
