About My Clients
Caring for loved ones is one of the most difficult jobs we can be asked to do. Do you have a parent with early stage dementia, or an adult child with disabilities? Maybe you’re in the “sandwich generation” and have both! It’s impossible to know what it will feel like until you are in it. Guilt, finances, grief, big decisions and no time to take care of yourself are some of the stressors you may be coping with. I see caregivers looking to manage stress and anxiety.
My Background and Approach
With a background in hospital work, case management, non-profits and individual therapy, I am uniquely qualified to support caregivers and their loved ones. I have worked with adults through the lifespan in various settings. I have experience supporting older adults in assisted and independent living facilities. I have worked with neurodivergent adults and individuals with various developmental disabilities. I support folks going through big life transitions, grief and loss. And I understand the unique struggles of caregivers. Using a strengths-based approach, motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy, I support client in making the changes they want to make to feel their best. I have a warm, non-judgmental approach and I take my time getting to know my clients and building trust. My client's often tell me that I am the only person who truly listens to them and hears what they are saying.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Self-determination and independence are very important to me in my work with older adults and individuals with disabilities. As a social worker, these are core values that I hold close to my heart and put into practice every day.
