I enjoy working with clients who are curious about their interiority and want to explore their relational dynamics. Part of my work is to help our relationship feel like one where you can take risks and learn about what's getting in the way of living the life you want to be living.
My Background and Approach
In our process, we explore what's been difficult to be with on your own. As painful recurring patterns from your everyday life emerge in the therapy room, we listen together to what your symptoms are trying to tell you, and we work to make sense of your unique experience. New ideas and ways of responding can become available when you tend to your inner world in the presence of a skilled and attentive therapist, whether you're dealing with a known, ongoing concern like depression or anxiety, or a new one you don't quite have words for yet. I tend to work with people addressing life transitions, relationship issues, shame, grief, loss, moods they don’t understand, and questions around identity. I often work with artists, college and grad students, recent grads, and older adults. If appropriate, we have the option to meet multiple times per week for more intensive psychoanalytic work.
