About My Clients
I work with many queer and trans clients who identify as relationally, erotically and/or gender diverse. Many folks have experienced systemic oppression in their lives and have struggled to find an affirming and understanding therapist who is aware of the impacts of living with a marginalized identity. I work with clients who are trying to improve their self understanding and self acceptance, live with greater authenticity, and deepen intimacy in their relationships.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in sexuality and gender as well as trauma therapy. I value providing a safe and affirming space for individuals exploring their sexual, relational, gender and erotic diversity. My therapeutic style is warm, direct, attentive, and relationally focused. I am trained in EMDR, IFS, and psychodynamic theory and incorporate somatic and mindfulness practices. I hold a certificate in sex therapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies and specialize in working with queer, trans and kinky folks. I like working collaboratively and creatively with clients to see what might work best for them.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a queer, non-binary, non monogamous person, I value creating spaces where folks with marginalized identities can feel safe and understood. While some of my identities have crossover with those of my clients, I use an intersectional lens to understand how different experiences and aspects of self influence each unique individual. I am a part of trans and immigrant rights activism in my community and believe in the power of collective healing for change. I am also a creative writer and coordinate events to showcase queer and trans storytelling.
