About My Clients
I help couples and individuals who feel lost, stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, or depressed and are looking looking to resolve how these issues are impacting their relationships. Often they are navigating a major life transition or working through grief. Whether you're stepping into parenthood, navigating a career shift, or building the foundations of a new relationship, I offer an attuned space of compassion to assist your journey towards feeling more security with yourself.
My Background and Approach
I worked as a doula and childbirth educator before becoming a therapist and understand the complexity of grief during life transitions. My approach is holistic and psychodynamic exploring all the factors that might be blocking you from having a fulfilling life and our work will be customized for what your goals are in therapy. In your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. We will look at your history and your relationships to understand what patterns you want to change. I incorporate mindful and somatic exercises that teach you how to listen to your body and learn how to trust yourself. I often explore sexuality with clients a non-judgemental space. I firmly believe you're the expert of your own healing and will invite you to be more aware of your assets by reinforcing your strengths. I have completed training in the Trauma Resiliency Method and Postpartum Support International.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
It is very important to me to create a safe place for all people who want to enter therapy. What is needed to feel safe and secure can be so individual for each client. I believe it is the relationship between client and therapist that creates an avenue for healing. I like helping clients understand their strengths and positive feelings which can often lead to a sense of more agency in their life. To me, therapy as a collaborative process and I look forward to working with you.
