About My Clients
I have extensive experience working with grieving children, teens, emerging adults and adults, including those who've experienced mass trauma. My practice also provides support to those struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, family and relationship difficulties, and academic and career stressors. I use a trauma-informed, culturally-sensitive approach in collaborating with clients to build upon their strengths, increase coping skills, and create change.
My Background and Approach
My therapeutic approach incorporates elements of psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). As a provider, I bring empathy, humor, compassion, and curiosity. My goal is to offer clients a safe space where they feel validated, heard, and supported. I hope to share strategies and coping skills and to assist clients in building on their strengths. I trained at the Hunter College School of Social Work in NYC and have worked in a variety of outpatient settings, including schools, mental health clinics, bereavement centers, and Hospice.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Before I returned to graduate school for social work, I worked and volunteered for a variety of nonprofit organizations based in NYC. This included roles as a Caseworker in a nonprofit serving immigrants and refugees and as a Program Assistant in Racial Justice within the Human Rights Unit of an international foundation. Being a participant in activism and fighting for social justice is an important part of my value system, both professionally and personally. I am always striving to learn more and to do better.
