Couples therapy is one of the most intriguing areas of my practice. Couples tend to feel that their love has changed when it is often "external" issues that are negatively influencing the relationship. Healthy communication skills are crucial in a relationship. I teach active listening, reflective statements strategies, as-well-as structured date nights (at any age), and healthy work/life balance.

Anxiety is not a one-size-fits-all diagnosis. Many of my clients come to me with acute anxiety consequences (i.e. sleep issues, panic attacks, focus and/or task completion issues). It's necessary to minimize the chaos that anxiety causes with small attainable goals. Because anxiety is often episodic, I assist my clients in developing an individualized Self Care Action Plan based on mindfulness, physical activities, social interactions, hobbies, and (if necessary) medication management.

Because everyone's depression "story" is unique and difficult to share; I initially work toward creating a safe, healthy and supportive therapy environment. Depression "outcomes" such as low self-esteem, self-confidence, and distorted thought patterns are common and highly treatable when there's a strong therapy alliance. I offer guided access to strategies, techniques, handouts, and worksheets during and in between sessions. I support healthy changes until you are able to do so independently.

Reaching out for support is a really hard thing to do so I am honored when clients allow me to offer them a safe and non-judgmental environment to move forward with whatever is comfortable for them. I work "with" each client to create an individualized treatment plan that incorporates positive change and "doable" strategies for an improved overall well being. Self-esteem, self-worth and healthy social communication are crucial at any age. I'm hear to listen, learn, and support.

Trying to manage anxiety without understanding where, why and how it occurs, can be extremely overwhelming. Initially, I recommend using mood tracking process that helps us gain better insight on your specific stressors. We identify any cognitive distortions and I support relearning healthier mindsets by quieting your internal chaos. I teach individualized mindfulness strategies, that can be learned and used any time and anywhere.

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is short-term, goal-focused, and evidence-based therapeutic approach, which incorporates positive psychology principles and practices, and assists change by constructing solutions rather than focusing on problems. I have been a Certified SFBT provider for several years and find it to be an extremely beneficial technique in almost every area of my practice.
