Stress, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we will experience at many points in our lives. Painful and traumatic life events may result in hopelessness that can linger after the fact. And Work-related stress, when left unmanaged, can lead to burnout. I love working with diverse professionals of color 18+ to resolve past stressors and rediscover your peace, power,and purpose!
My Background and Approach
Through Somatic Practices we teach you to enhance your mind-body connection with 12 sessions and beyond. You will learn to experience relief and release of your chronic stress cycles. We help you resolve past trauma with EMDR Therapy, in 6-12 sessions. EMDR is an evidenced based approach to desensitize and reprocess the wounds of the past in the present. Professional Resilience Coaching utilizes a Forward-Facing® approach to resolve the effects of secondary traumatic stress while also providing education and skill building in a 5-10 session model. Our trained bilingual therapists offer evidenced based, culturally informed, individualized care. By treating a variety of mind-body concerns, over time we help you achieve personal and professional growth.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As the daughter of immigrants, Sheli possesses a deep understanding of the impacts of traumatic stress, bicultural stress, and the challenges of assimilation faced by clients from diverse social, economic, and cultural backgrounds. Her unique perspective and expertise make her a valuable resource for those navigating the intersections of trauma, immigration, and mental health. Sheli recently co-authored a book in Spanish titled "Libertad with Forward-Facing," delving into the causes and effects of traumatic stress within the Latino and immigrant population in the United States. She specializes in assisting professionals of color in overcoming stress, burnout, and trauma. Over the past three years, she has also been actively involved with the non-profit organization Redefining Refuge Inc., where she conducts mental health assessments for sexually exploited and trafficked youth. Sheli's dedicated to social justice, addressing human trafficking issues, and promoting mental well-being!
