About My Clients

Do you struggle with body image or obsess about thoughts of food and weight in order to feel worthy? Do shame, perfectionism, and people-pleasing cause you to doubt and berate yourself? Do you struggle to assert yourself and feel powerful in your own life? That's not what you deserve. I work with adult female-identifying clients on body image/disordered eating, perfectionism, and self-empowerment.

My Background and Approach

I want to help women feel confident, worthy, and powerful. I use a feminist lens to help women understand not only themselves, but also how they have been influenced by the social experience around them in a world created by men, for men. I use a mix of treatment approaches including Acceptance Commitment Therapy to help clients identify values for behavior change, Somatic Therapy to help connect clients to their bodies, and Narrative Therapy to help clients understand their personal story, as well as the social stories that impact them. I have extensive experience working with different issues of disordered eating after being trained in both outpatient and inpatient settings for eating disorders, as well as staying up-to-date on eating disorder, body image, and mind/body connection treatment research and methods.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe women are strong, beautiful, and capable. However, most women receive messaging from society, our family, our friends, and media of what we “should” want, do, and look like. Instead of that, I want to help women feel the freedom and power to start taking up space, speaking up, and loving themselves without judgment. I am a member of NOW, the National Organization of Women, that works to help advocate for the rights of women, LGBTQIA individuals, and marginalized communities. I value trust in the therapeutic relationship as the top priority for my clients, so I strive to create a therapeutic environment that is compassionate, empowering, non-judgmental, and even humorous. Asking for help can feel daunting, but I hope to be a safe space for you to become your authentic, powerful self and create the life you deserve.
