About My Clients
Are you feeling stuck or unsatisfied? Together we'll explore what your life is like now, how you'd like it to be, and what's getting in the way of you experiencing the life you want to live. People who are queer, BIPOC, kinky, poly, neurodivergent, sex workers, are carrying their heavy past around with them, are insatiably curious, feel (seemingly) hopelessly anxious, struggle in relationship, or feel lost or forgotten about...lets talk.
My Background and Approach
When someone comes to counseling it’s because they want something to change. I believe change happens by trying to be who we are rather than trying to be different. As a contemporary relational Gestalt therapist, I show up as who I really am and invite contact with you. Contact happens at that moment when you really feel another person, when you feel the immediacy of what’s happening right here, right now, between us. Contact is relational, energetic, ripe, juicy, rich, expansive, and full of potential. This experience is a healer and teacher because at the moment of contact we actually feel more of ourselves in the contrast of really feeling another. I’ll be there with you to make contact with those parts of you that are hiding, hurt, marginalized, fearful, ashamed, anxious, angry, sad, and confused. Together we can work towards self-awareness, self-acceptance, and whole-self embodiment.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I’m committed to honoring each client’s autonomy, intersecting identities, and the culturally-sensitive aspects of their experience, like gender, race, ethnicity, sexuality, ability, neurodivergence, and body size. I create space to examine power, and I promote client choice and solicit feedback throughout the therapy process. I value making contact with clients at areas of difference because I believe it’s only in this contrast that a person finds themself. My practice is celebratory and affirming of the human experience in all of it’s wonderful, diverse, and beautiful forms.
