I specialize in supporting adults with anxiety (some of whom may self-identify as perfectionists) and LGBTQIA+ Millennials. You may feel eager to make changes in your life and not know where to start, want to explore complex layers of your identities, or seek ways to better navigate relationships. We'll work together to boost your strengths and shift perspectives so you can engage in life with a more grounded sense of self.
My Background and Approach
*View my website for information on my specialties* I'm a licensed mental health counselor and Certified EMDR therapist with over 16 years of experience in multiple areas of mental health, including a long stint in higher education. I have training in various theories and I calibrate my approach based on your needs at each session. I’m also a 200-hour certified yoga teacher and find it useful to bring the body into our sessions, rather than just focusing on our thoughts or emotions. Our work together will be collaborative and I will respect your needs and time. I will bring my authentic self to our work and trust that you are doing the same. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm a queer, white, cisgender woman. I am dedicated to an anti-oppressive, antiracist trauma-informed approach. I will affirm your identities and foster a compassionate, nonjudgmental therapeutic space for you to talk about whatever you need. I believe in radical self-love and sex-positivity, and I'm kink and polyam/non-monogamy affirming. You are the expert of yourself, and the answers you seek are within you — I'll support you in this process to boost self-compassion, soften judgments, and tune into yourself so you access that innate knowledge, your “embodied insight.” It's an honor for me to hold space for you so that you can connect to your true Self. On a more personal/less serious note, I love my cats deeply and you might even catch one of them, Luca, in one of our sessions! I also love being active, whether it's lifting weights or going for a long walk, and thoroughly enjoy a good nonfiction book or memoir.
