About My Clients
You're feeling disconnected—from yourself, your partner, friends, work, everything. You've been feeling that for a while, and you aren't sure why, but you're noticing it affecting your relationships. You want to reach for someone or something, but you aren't quite sure what or who or if it's even worth it—if you're even worth it. You've tried analyzing whatever this is. You've read the self-help books and followed TikTok therapists, but this feeling won't go away.
My Background and Approach
As someone who is social justice-oriented, person-centered, and a feminist, I take a trauma-focused approach to counseling and lean into person-centered and relational-cultural theories, as well as other humanistic and feminist theories. Creating an inclusive, welcoming space for you to show up authentically and explore your depths is my priority. I recently earned my clinical mental health counseling Masters degree from University of Missouri-St. Louis, as well as a Multicultural and Social Justice Counseling graduate certificate. Before becoming a therapist I was a trauma-informed yoga teacher and continuing education provider. The skills, tools, and practices I utilized as a yoga teacher make their way into the therapy space to promote embodiment, mindfulness, and empowerment.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone desires connection, and each person deserves to have healthy and empowering connections with themselves, others, and communities. To me therapy is political, and I believe that Black Lives Matter, Trans and women's rights are human rights, reproductive care is essential, gun reform is necessary, people can love whomever they want, and gender-affirming care saves lives. Clients' preferred names and pronouns are always utilized.
