About My Clients
Working with a client experiencing depression involves understanding the multifaceted nature of their condition. It's not just about sadness; it's often a profound sense of hopelessness, a loss of interest in activities they once enjoyed, and a pervasive fatigue that makes even simple tasks feel insurmountable. The goal of therapy is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where the client can explore these feelings without fear of being a burden or being told to "just cheer up."
My Background and Approach
I have worked in many different settings, including inpatient and outpatient clinics, community mental health centers, and government agencies. My approach is always tailored to the person in front of me. I use a variety of evidence-based therapies and adjust to my styles to fit each person’s needs, strengths, and way of seeing the world. I value cultural sensitivity to learn about your traditions, values, and communication styles so that our work together feels comfortable and respectful.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Many people hold different personal beliefs about therapy, often shaped by their upbringing, cultural background, and past experiences. While therapy has become more widely accepted, many people still hold onto certain beliefs that can act as barriers to seeking help.
