About My Clients
I work best with young people, adults, and couples who feel emotionally overwhelmed, stuck, or at a turning point in their lives. Many of my ideal clients are navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, loneliness, anger, substance use concerns, relationship stress, or career challenges such as burnout and job transitions. They want a supportive, nonjudgmental space to gain clarity, build coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and move forward with greater confidence and direction.
My Background and Approach
I am Sheila Mashack, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, and CASAC Level 2 with over 25 years of experience across clinical, educational, and community settings. My work includes counseling, coaching, teaching, career development, and clinical supervision. I support individuals and couples facing anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, substance use concerns, relationship stress, career challenges, and major life transitions. My approach is person-centered and trauma-informed, drawing from CBT, DBT, Internal Family Systems–informed strategies, mindfulness, and practical skill-building. I focus on helping clients understand their emotional patterns, strengthen self-awareness, and develop healthier ways of coping with stress and life challenges. I also integrate inner child and self-esteem work, anger management, and career-focused counseling.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe healing and growth begin with understanding how early life experiences shape our emotional world and adult relationships. My doctoral work and years of clinical practice have reinforced my belief that childhood relationships, family dynamics, and early messages about safety, worth, and identity strongly influence how we cope, connect, and see ourselves later in life. What may feel like “something is wrong with me” is often a reflection of patterns developed for protection and survival. I value compassion, accountability, and empowerment, and I am committed to trauma-informed, culturally responsive care. My work supports clients in honoring their personal history while building healthier patterns, stronger boundaries, and a more confident sense of self moving forward.
