About My Clients

We provide individualized art therapy sessions for people of all ages facing social, emotional, behavioral and situational challenges. Our areas of expertise include child and adolescent mental health, stress management/anxiety disorders, substance use/addiction, autism spectrum disorders/other developmental disabilities, bereavement/loss, medical illness and/or chronic pain, depression, divorce/family conflict, immigration, trauma, self-esteem, relationships, & professional burnout.

My Background and Approach

The Art Therapy Practice consists of a dynamic group of therapists who are all highly experienced, nationally registered, board-certified, and licensed by New York State. Our art therapists and clients work together in a supportive environment to co-create a treatment plan to address each client's unique needs. As psychotherapists who apply a humanistic approach to treatment, we prioritize the therapeutic relationship--one that allows our clients to grow and thrive emotionally--above all else.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Upon their first therapeutic encounter with a client, our therapists assess where the client currently is from a developmental, socio-emotional, and technical standpoint in relation to engaging with art media. Some clients are seeking self-esteem building and mastery through the manipulation of familiar and non-threatening art materials, while others may benefit from expanding their comfort zones with new tools and forms of making art. Precisely how an art therapy session is conducted varies from individual to individual and has its own unique texture and hue, whether in person or via a digital platform, yet the goal of enhancing self-expression, personal agency and communication skills is the same. We are especially passionate about providing support for those in professional or personal caretaking roles since the rate of burnout is so high and the work so demanding.
