About My Clients
In my practice, I hold space for individuals who are carrying a lot — often the caregivers, leaders, students, professionals, or parents who appear to “have it all together” on the outside but are feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or stuck on the inside. My ideal clients are people who are ready to look beneath the surface, whether they’re navigating stress, anxiety, grief, family conflict, identity concerns, or life transitions.
My Background and Approach
I’m Shayne McNichols, LMSW, a licensed clinical social worker with both Clinical and Macro designations in the state of Michigan. I bring over a decade and a h of experience supporting individuals, families, and communities through transitions, trauma, and healing. I earned both my undergraduate and graduate degrees from Grand Valley State University and have worked across multiple systems including schools, non-profits, and behavioral health organizations, which gives me a deep understanding of how personal challenges are often shaped by larger systemic and relational dynamics. I currently serve as an Assistant Director in higher education and maintain a private therapy and consulting practice focused on helping people reconnect with themselves, regulate their emotions, and process the things they’ve carried — often for far too long. I bring this same blend of insight, empathy, and clarity into the therapy room, creating a safe and nonjudgmental space for people to show up fully.
