About My Clients
One may feel like their lives are out of control and they need something to change. This may be related to anxiety, addiction, adult ADHD, or just handling everyday life stressors. I accept you for who you are.
My Background and Approach
My experience includes working on integrative behavioral health teams for Kolmac and Sheppard Pratt with adults with addiction, co-occurring, personality disorders, and psychosis. In my roles, I would offer skills practice to integrate new habits into one's daily lives, along with psychoeducation and counseling from a solution-focused model. I use an integrative approach with solution-focused brief therapy as my main process. I incorporate mindfulness, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT; a form of CBT), parts work (Focusing, IFS), hypnosis, and skills training from a behavioral framework.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
You are not broken. You do not need to be "fixed". We have patterns of doing things - habitual beliefs, thinking, reactions, and other behaviors - that do not align with the results we want in our lives. We may not even be aware of the things that contribute to the problems. Anything outside of your awareness is outside of your control, and with awareness comes understanding, and with understanding comes choices. I believe we can change the experiences we are getting in our lives, but in order to get change, we must change. We must do something different in our thinking, what we believe, how we take care of ourselves, and how we respond and act in our daily lives. Small changes compound over time through repetition. It is the things that we are doing that we need to examine, modify, practice new ways, gain feedback, adjust, and continue to practice to gain different results. It is possible and it is a process. I am a facilitator in the process.
