My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor practicing in the state of North Carolina. I obtained my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2021 from North Carolina State University. I have experience working in diverse settings such as non-profit, community corrections, and private practice settings. My specialties include anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship conflict, and interpersonal concerns. My individualized approach considers your personal experiences and values to create a therapeutic experience that suits your unique needs. I utilize cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, relational, mindfulness-based therapies, and interpersonal therapies.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we are the experts in our own lives, but sometimes we need guidance in navigating life's challenges. Each individual's journey is different, and no matter the circumstances, we all desire a chance at the life we want to live. As an African American woman, who is also a part of the chronic illness community, I understand the stigmas and barriers faced by societal injustices. Therapy can help you learn to manage and overcome feeling hopeless and defeated through advocacy. I want to provide a safe space for you to feel heard and supported on this journey as you create the life you deserve.
