About My Clients
I work with all ages of individuals, couples and families. Most commonly, my clients come with relational conflict whether coming individually or with family members/partners. We discover attachment styles and personality traits to understand what each individual is bringing to the relationship. In addition, I work with people who struggle with anxiety, depression, bipolar and borderline.
My Background and Approach
I am a master's level licensed therapist and have an extensive background in family dynamics, marriage and parenting. I am trained in trauma informed care. I am a certified SYMBIS (faith-based relationship assessment) facilitator. My training is based in attachment style work in addition to being Gottman Method level 1 trained in counseling for couples. All of these backgrounds stem from understanding attachment styles: how we relate and communicate with others. I offer counseling for parents of children who are in the LGBTQ community and may be experiencing conflict with their faith community. I offer counseling for military and the military/veteran affiliated community and am STAR level 1 trained.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a part of the faith community, am an advocate for LGBTQ community, am a supporter of our military members and veterans, have recently served as a Guardian ad Litem for the foster care system of NC. My beliefs come from my faith and an understanding that we are all made for connection in this world. While our injuries happen in connection, our healing also comes through healthy connections.
