My Background and Approach
I specialize in anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, mild cognitive impairment, couple’s communication, anger management and more. I help you identify the challenging areas of your life and identify your strengths while learning new ways of thinking and behaving to achieve your self-identified therapy goals. I am a cognitive behavioral therapist who utilize several different evidenced based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Trauma Focused Treatment (e.g., Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Processing Therapy) to treat anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mood disorders. I also use solution focused therapy for couples in addition to teaching effective couples communication skills, reminiscent therapy with my clients in the latter stage of the lifespan with mild cognitive impairment and other age related changes.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In therapy, I promote self-autonomy, self-advocacy, and prioritizing your needs. I find that it is rare that my clients do not know what needs to change in their lives but how to begin making those changes and acting on that change consistently is where the challenge often lies. Rest assured that you will have a mentor, coach, teacher, and avid listener every step of the way. I believe in treating the whole person, the mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical aspects.
