I have conducted psychological assessments and provided counseling for children and adolescents with ADHD for 18 years. I have supported parents by providing psychoeducation and school and home strategies, including presenting to parent and school staff about executive functioning. I have also been instrumental in creating behavior intervention plans.

I have conducted psychological assessments and provided counseling for children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders for 18 years, and I have supported parents by providing psychoeducation and school and home strategies. I have also been instrumental in creating behavior intervention plans. In times of crisis, I have conducted crisis interventions and suicide risk assessments. For four years, I was a psychologist in a special program for students with severe autism.

For one year, I worked in programs for students with emotional disabilities, such as anxiety, depression, ODD, and CD.

My therapeutic approach is integrative and draws from behavioral therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), humanistic therapy, play therapy, and mindfulness, all areas in which I have received extensive training and continue to pursue training in. I utilize the approach(es) that I believe would most benefit the individual needs of my client.

As a bicultural and bilingual woman of color, I am proud to bring my diversity to the therapeutic relationship. I have had extensive training in cultural and diversity issues since graduate school and continue to seek and learn in my professional development. I deeply value and respect human differences and offer a safe and accepting space for clients who desire support on diversity, cultural, and identify issues.

My doctoral training and experience is rooted in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), especially rational-emotive behavioral therapy, exposure response prevention, and mindfulness-based. I continue to actively pursue training in CBT, because I believe that is an effective and powerful therapy for many mental health conditions and life challenges. I am passionate about empowering children and adolescents with lifelong coping skills and strategies to thrive.
