About My Clients
We love working with women navigating life's transitions. You are motivated. You give to everyone, now you are ready to take care of you! We partner with you to find the right medication at the right dose. If you are struggling with depression, anxiety, stress, bipolar, or ADHD, we can help you. Many of our clients are ambivalent or down right scared about medicine. We will hold your hand through it. We also specialize in helping pregnant and postpartum women.
My Background and Approach
We use the nursing model which is holistic and wellness based. Julie, Bolanle, Jendayi, and I all have slightly different approaches but overall are passionate about partnering with you to provide evidence based practices in helping you achieve your health goals. Julie and Sharon both can do psychotherapy. Julie uses CPT and other CBT based modalities. Sharon uses ACT and CBT.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe women experience higher rates of mental health conditions, not because of our biology, but as a result of our society. We are expected to be everything to everyone. Who wouldn't feel anxious or depressed with this pressure. Women of color and members of the LGBQT community have the added component of intersectionality. Of course genetics, neurotransmitters , and hormones play a role. We don't ignore biology, we just see a bigger picture. Our clinic is called Nurtured Well because I wanted to create a place where women could feel nurtured and learn to cherish themselves. We also give 10% of our profits to organizations that help women and families.
