About My Clients
My passion is working with adoptees and folks with unknown or unexpected parentage. There is a special kind of loneliness and identity crisis that comes with both of these demographics. Additionally, I work with individuals within the LGBTQIA+ community to help them explore their identity and befriend their true, authentic selves. Chronic illness is another demographic I enjoy working with as there are aspects of trauma and grief that accompany any chronic illness.
My Background and Approach
Having endured my own share of trauma and chronic illness, you can be certain that you are working with someone who truly "gets it." Though our situations may be different, the feelings are the same. Your feelings and experiences are valid. My approach is uniquely tailored to each individual client. Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all field and should be just as unique as you are. I am trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), IFS (internal family systems), and CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy). In working with me, we might use traditional talk therapy with any of the above modalities, in addition to art therapy or play therapy practices. Additionally, I am passionate about incorporating nature into therapy as I firmly believe in the benefit of natural green spaces to our mental health and thus, also fully embrace forest bathing as a modality.
