About My Clients
I specialize in working with high-achieving adults who are struggling with motivation from the complex interplay of ADHD, anxiety, and depression, often compounded by past trauma. Many of these clients have experienced childhoods where they were not seen or heard, leading to insecure attachments within themselves and others. This can lead to difficulties in relationships.
My Background and Approach
Hi there! I’m Shannon (she/her), Professional Licensed Counselor Associate under the Supervision of Celeste Osborne. I am the owner of Shannon Strong Counseling and love working with my clients to help them uncover the deep-rooted patterns that are keeping them stuck. My approach is warm, accepting, collaborative, and judgment free. I use a strong focus in attachment-based approach to create a secure attachment between client and therapist, as well as a psychodynamic lens to explore past experiences that help shape the present feelings and behaviors. I am a trauma-informed counselor who has worked with emergency shelter youth in CPS, PTSD and C-PTSD, Relational abuse, and intergenerational trauma, as well as ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and psychotic disorders. I specialize in ADHD, anxiety, and depression and I would love to meet you and help offer relief with ways to manage life’s challenges.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My practice is built on the belief that every individual has the innate ability to navigate life’s challenges and become stronger from the inner work. Together, we work to build a secure attachment with yourself, discover the structures and routines that best suit your needs to achieve your goals, overcome the lack of motivation, and bring inner peace to what was once an anxious, overdriven state. I am an avid advocate for the neurodiversity community.
