About My Clients

Are there things you wish you could do differently, or stop doing altogether? Are you anxious or depressed and want to be able to engage in behaviors that are more aligned with your personal values and goals? Do you wonder WHY you act the way you do, even though you know it's not going to work out well for you long term? Are you more interested in DOING than talking? I know what you're feeling, and I've helped tons of people who are in the same place as you right now. There is hope.

My Background and Approach

Behavior therapy means that we will primarily look at what you do, the results of your current behavior, and how you could act more effectively to shape the life you want. And we'll take data to track your progress and make changes in real time if your goals are not being met. In addition to a PhD in Applied Behavior analysis, I am a BCBA-D with an MS in Counseling. I am also a certified Sexuality Educator and Trainer. I have have over a decade of experience providing 1:1 support, mentoring clinicians and helping people change and better manage their behavior. I have worked with a wide array of people. I've had the pleasure of working with individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety Disorder, Acquired or Traumatic Brain Injuries, Dementia, Intellectual Disabilities, and Autism Spectrum Disorders, . My work has been with people throughout the lifespan, from early childhood concerns in foster care settings to adults of all ages.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I truly believe that everyone is doing the best they can in the moment, no matter how that may look to someone on the outside. Most human behavior that causes problems is a matter of someone wanting something very reasonable, but they may not necessarily have all the tools they need to achieve their goals. Or something in the environment might need to be modified. That's where our work begins. I don't judge or discriminate against anyone. I firmly believe that change is always possible, even if you have tried before without getting the results you wanted. Every "failure" is a chance to gather information about what worked and what didn't, so we can take a new approach the next time. The only real failure is giving up.
