About My Clients
I have over 15 years of experience working with children, adolescents and families. I help individuals and families with parent-child relationship issues, parenting, life adjustment issues, school problems, anxiety, depression, LGTBQ issues and more. I especially love working with adolescents and supporting them through those tumultuous middle and high school years, and enjoy helping parents work through these years too,assisting them to learn how to support their children as best as possible.
My Background and Approach
I have an extensive background in family therapy and have been trained in evidenced based family therapy models, such as Functional Family Therapy and Multi-systemic thearpy. I have worked as a therapist directly in the schools through the Student Assistance Program. I help individuals and families learn new and healthy communication techniques, as well as provide tools for people to learn and practice to help decrease anxiety and depression and promote an improved sense of well-being, such as mindfulness tools and thoughts challening techniques. I work to provide a holitstic approach incorporating mind, body and spirit.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the inherit worth and dignity of all human beings. We are all worthy and valuabe. I believe life is a journey and sometimes we all need some support and guidance. I believe that mental health is an issue everyone wrestles with from time to time and seeking help is something to be proud of.
