About My Clients

I help anxious adults change your thinking patterns, process your grief, and manage your multiple roles as a professional, parent, and/or friend. My services are geared toward adult professionals who experience high levels of stress in their jobs, and who may be struggling with work-life balance. I offer exception and caring treatment through the therapy process and help you find new coping skills to manage your pain, ruminating thoughts, and sleeplessness.

My Background and Approach

Change requires commitment and hard work, and that is why therapy is so hard. I believe it's not a sprint to heal, but more similar to running a marathon to make lasting healing. It is not easy to replace habits or thinking processes that you have honed over many years or even perhaps your lifetime to date. I try to find out what you want to change or how you want to feel better, and work with you as a partner to make this happen in a safe and supportive environment. I have over 20 years’ experience as a clinician in the mental health field. I have specific training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for use in anxiety and depression, in Motivational Interviewing for use in alcohol and drug use, and in Grief and Loss for use in divorce, death of a loved one, or any other significant loss. In addition, my background in management offers a unique perspective to those that are experiencing work stress and trying to please everyone.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I value diversity and open-mindedness, and although Colorado in comparison to other areas of the country has less diversity than some, I still seek out opportunities to promote my values. I attended a very liberal college, Grinnell College, that opened my eyes to the LGBTQ community and the trauma and grief that many of you have experienced in your life. I have helped many LGBTQ persons process their grief, reconnect to their values, and become the person they want to become.
