About My Clients

Are you a caretaker of a loved one with special needs or declining health? Has your life been recently rocked with grief, change or overwhelming circumstances? I've been there. Life transitions and unforeseen events can make the world feel bleak when experienced without someone who authentically understands. My work is tailored towards supporting clients in feeling understood and heard. I help clients discover their attachment style, healthy coping skills, and address unprocessed trauma.

My Background and Approach

My education, clinical training and experience shape the unique approach that I take in helping clients tackle their counseling goals with agency and renewed esteem. As well, my personal life experience greatly informs the understanding and empathy needed during blindsiding life events. I am exceptionally empathetic about how life can turn on a dime, and I understand how important both authenticity and clinical expertise are to support clients during their times of need. My approach is humanistic and person-centered with an emphasis on attachment styles, generational trauma (epigenetics), and crisis management skills. I highly encourage incorporating nature into wellness goals. Research indicates that those who are regularly exposed to nature will experience a decrease in depressive symptoms and an increase in cognition and emotional regulation. As you are unique, so will be my approach to the needs you seek in finding inner peace.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that with bravery and work, trauma can soften and inform hope and healing. I spent years in my own personal therapy to move through the enormity of difficult life events: having children with special needs; divorce; being a working, single mom for a decade; becoming a blended interfaith family in my new marriage; losing my best friend to suicide; and losing my mother to vascular dementia. Through it all, I have learned to put my emotional pain to purpose, to find meaning, value and healing from adversity, loss or hurt. Gratitude and forgiveness are miraculous bandages of the soul -almost as much as chocolate and pizza! :) I emphasize finding your creative outlets (and yes, everyone has a creative talent!) to spark joy and mindfulness habits. Creativity sure helps with my interfaith home that celebrates Chrismukkah and Rabbi Rabbits in Spring. I love what I do and feel privileged to be in counterpart with clients seeking emotional recovery.
