My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS), and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) with over a decade of experience serving children, adolescents, young adults, adults, veterans, and families. My clinical background includes outpatient therapy, community-based services, residential treatment, supervision, and program leadership. My approach is trauma-focused, person-centered, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-focused interventions, family systems concepts, and strengths-based approaches. In addition to psychotherapy, I provide specialized mental health evaluations, including military entrance waiver evaluations and independent mental health evaluations for veterans. These evaluations focus on delivering objective, comprehensive clinical assessments while helping individuals navigate military and veteran-related systems.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe every person deserves to be seen as more than a diagnosis, symptom, or difficult chapter in their life. My role is not to tell clients who they should be, but to help them better understand themselves, identify what is getting in the way of their goals, and build the skills and confidence needed to create meaningful change. I recognize that trauma, family experiences, cultural influences, and life circumstances shape how we view ourselves and the world around us. Because of this, I approach therapy with curiosity, respect, and a commitment to understanding each person's unique story.
