About My Clients

Do you have a lot of love for your partner-no matter how hard it is what you're navigating? Did you find your love connection and now there is a coming out transgender challenge to your relationship? Is yours a relationship worth saving if you just knew how to repair broken trust? I devote myself to growing relationships, antiracism work, and empowering LGBTQi? to keep mutually supportive relationships intact.

My Background and Approach

I help folks get through hard stuff without divorce. Success in my marriage (25+ years married) and helping couples is motivated by getting frustrated by broken relationships (was young and divorced once), then devoting myself to relationship strategies that work to build connection or repair. If your relationship is hard, or you need event based support, I got you! I have tools to move you quickly on to do things differently for more positivity. Many years of experience taught me that even when suffering, a couple can come back and get on track to building your love habits if you have the love, and an advanced trained, Gottman method counselor who knows the research on what to plant and what to weed out in relationships. I can help. Having queer family, friends and clients made clear that LGBTQi? couples and transgender coming out couples take enough crud for being who they are-and deserve access to relationship savvy!

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My grandmother took me to AA when too young for coffee but had a bit anyway. She gifted me with the belief that people can come back from the hardest things. My mottos for my daughter are "keep going," and "let the light in." As a counselor, my belief in your future, your possibilities, that growth is possible is central to everything. I have also had my heart wrenched in two by loved ones who shut the door to healing and new possibilities. My father died from heartbreak and overdose. I know the consequences of not taking positive action. I trust science to pinpoint relationship steps for staying strong or getting back on track and I use them. I believe couples counseling should be regulated so as not cause further harm by the untrained. I regret that I lived in a white bubble so long without more leveraging of white privilege for BIPOC. I believe in progressive stacking order everywhere -bringing marginalized voices forward and decentering whiteness.
