About My Clients
My ideal client is a person that owns their unique story and desires growth, healing, exploration, direction, and resolution. My ideal client is searching for understanding and validation, regardless of personal circumstances or struggles. It is my desire to come alongside, challenge, and encourage my clients to find healing emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually in a non-judgmental, unbiased safe space.
My Background and Approach
I gained significant insight of early childhood mental health through experience with ages 6 weeks-15 while working as a Director of a childcare center, pushing the early childhood assessment initiative, and becoming an advocate for Early Childhood Mental Health Consultants. I gained further insight of childhood mental health through experience with ages 8-18 while working as an LPC at a behavioral school in which I consulted with families, provided crisis intervention, and taught social skills classes. Through further youth counseling services, as a certified Multisystemic Therapy Counselor, I realized that I had a passion for youth and family counseling. I had developed a level of patience and compassion for a population that could be challenging. After years of devotion to youth and family counseling, I ventured off into private practice which introduced another level of counseling experience, and I was able to hone into my style of counseling and competence in the counseling field.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My personal philosophy of counseling begins and ends with unconditional positive regard. I have an authentic listening heart that desires to see people live as whole, healthy individuals. I believe that counseling is a pathway for growth and healing. It is an opportunity for the client to explore their own thoughts and feelings in a non-judgmental, unbiased safe space. It also provides a space that encourages the client in establishing new, healthy patterns of behavior. As a counselor, I desire to encourage the client to draw their own conclusions and choose the direction they want to take in resolving their issues. As a team, we can then set realistic goals to achieve the desired outcome. I believe in treating each person as a unique individual, worthy of acceptance, regardless of personal circumstances, struggles, and/or identity. It is my desire to come alongside, challenge, and encourage my clients to find healing emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually.
