About My Clients
I am an IFS Informed therapist who specializes in working with adults recovering from “adult child” issues, who’ve experienced emotional neglect as children, who struggle with codependency, adults with emotionally immature or addicted parents/spouses, friends and family of alcoholics or addicts, OCD, highly anxious over achievers/perfectionists, and adults who’ve survived complex family trauma.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas, holding a Master of Sciences in Counseling and Development from Texas Woman’s University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Oklahoma State University. I began practicing in 2019 as an LPC Intern and became fully licensed in 2021. I utilize a range of methods included but not limited to; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Somatic Interventions, Attachment Theory, SAFE EMDR, Mindfulness Based Interventions, Solutions Focused/Brief Therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
The reason I see adults only is because I love children and believe that they shouldn't have to carry their parents' generational trauma. Therefore, I work with adults/parents only to do my part in healing society-- with the hope that our children will be set up with emotional success because their parents have healed themselves. I want to help adults take responsibility for their trauma and empower them to heal it verses projecting it onto their children to hold for them. I believe all humans are capable of healing themselves if they find the courage, patience, and commitment to do the work. I have personal experience with Al Anon, Adult Children of Alcoholics, Codependents Anonymous, and Alcoholics Anonymous. I fully understand the culture and practices of Christianity. I'm interested in "the woo" of spirituality/the universe/universal energy. I attend my own therapy weekly and am always striving to learn all I can about trauma and its impact on the human experience.
