About My Clients

A Traumatic experience is like an injury and can have a long lasting effect on you and impact the way you perceive and interact in the world. Anyone can experience trauma, it comes in many shapes and forms. If you are an individual experiencing trauma you may have difficulty regulating emotions such as anger, anxiety, sadness and easily feel overwhelmed or numb and shut down. Due to the trauma, our brain operates in a survival mode and finds ways to cope and not always healthy ways.

My Background and Approach

As a counselor, I will provide a safe environment, a comfortable place to land while we explore and examine how your trauma impacts you daily. In the therapeutic space, I will provide support, psychoeducation, tools and skills that are appropriate to your treatment goals. Through this collaborative process you will expand awareness, grow, heal and as a result cultivate a more adaptive life narrative that will empower and strengthen you. I am a trauma-informed therapist, my clinical work is integrative in nature. I’m grounded in a Person-Centered Approach that is enhanced by a number of supplemental theoretical orientations such as: Narrative Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Somatic Therapy, CBT, and Parts work (IFS) to name a few. My counseling style is genuine, personable, and creative. My personality is warm, inviting and direct. It is my focus that you feel heard, seen and respected. I look forward to accompanying you on your journey of inner-healing.
