About My Clients

My clients are working adults who are looking to live better lives by addressing personal issues rooted in the past. My clients are those seeking personal growth, discovery, healing, and recovering from trauma. People with prior experience in therapy but want to explore a deeper approach may find my therapeutic work helpful to them. Right now I have open hours during the daytime on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for online telehealth therapy.

My Background and Approach

The constant in life is changes always happen. It can be challenging. Our environment and individual needs can come into conflict from time to time. I work well with people experiencing challenges in work, relationships, personal life, trauma history, issues related to gender or sexism, complicated family histories, oppressive experiences, and maybe dealing with cross-cultural issues. Working adults in new environments can find a changed meaning of success. You might struggle with your recent relocation, relationships, not feeling connected to your new community, or missing your culture. If you have problems with anxiety, depression, loneliness, and difficulty with changes, I might be able to help. My approach is holistic. I take the whole person, history, and context into consideration. I can work clinically with or without the medical diagnosis and examine more significant philosophical, environmental, and cultural issues you face.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe in getting to know the clients in a deep way by listening a lot, and get to know how their history affect their current lives. I enjoy getting to know what works for my clients, and what their needs truly are. I am less about the quick fix and more about looking for the root cause of things. My approach is rooted in psychodynamic, developmental, neuroscience, and trauma-informed orientations. My personal style is authentic, straightforward, with honesty and humor. When engaged in a therapeutic relationship, I like to be consistent. I work well with clients who are seeking consistent and regular therapy. Outside of my clinical work, I am deeply engaged in supervision, research, and teaching. I have my finger on the pulse of the latest research on effective approaches in therapy related to my orientation. I am keenly aware of neurological factors affecting our personhood, and incorporate these cutting edge understanding into my work.
