About My Clients
I have a particular interest in helping clients in the LGBTQ+ community, those navigating faith crisis and religious trauma, grief and end-of-life situations, life transitions, women’s issues, and working with elderly clients. I also work with clients struggling with anxiety and depression, as well as those dealing with chronic illness or disability.
My Background and Approach
In the face of difficulties, pain, changes, and mental health issues, it is my firm belief that all of us need to be heard in order to heal. Being heard allows us to gain wider perspective, to be safe enough to feel our hard feelings, and to be open to learning new ways to meet our challenges head on and come through as the person we want to be. My goal as a therapist is to really hear you without agenda, and offer that care and support that you need. To help achieve that I use person-centered, narrative, and internal family systems therapies. Life can hurt, be confusing, be unexpected, and shift suddenly. We all need help navigating through that. We all need to be heard, supported, and learn skills to cope. You can get through this. If you feel I can help in your journey, please reach out.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm an active member of the LGBTQ community as a bisexual cis woman, raising a kiddo who's also in the rainbow mafia, and find great purpose in helping support people in this community navigate their personal struggles and triumphs, as well as advocating for support, acceptance and resources. I also have a background in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and experience with faith crisis, with a deep conviction that everyone's personal spiritual journey is an individual pursuit that I hope to help others navigate when they need it. I firmly believe your journey is your own, and that the only "destination" that matters is the one where you personally find the spiritual place that nurtures you, wherever that might be.
