About My Clients
I support individuals who’ve learned to quiet their needs to stay safe or keep the peace. You may appear steady on the outside, but inside you feel anxious, overwhelmed, or burned out. Many of my clients are navigating life transitions, relational trauma, or emotional exhaustion. You might be tired of performing, people-pleasing, or carrying the weight of your past alone.
My Background and Approach
I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Certified EMDR Therapist, and Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMH-C) clinician. My work in mental health and helping professions spans 25 years, including a chapter devoted to raising my family. I specialize in complex trauma, attachment wounds, anxiety, grief, motherhood, and intergenerational healing, including emotional neglect and the mother wound. My approach is relational, somatic, and grounded in the belief that many of the patterns we struggle with began as ways of adapting, protecting ourselves, or staying connected. I integrate attachment-focused EMDR, somatic therapy, IFS-informed parts work, and expressive practices to help clients move beyond insight toward embodied change. I bring warmth, curiosity, honesty, and deep respect for what helped you survive. Together, we can tend to what still hurts, strengthen self-trust and self-compassion, and create space for a life that feels more connected to who you are.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I became a therapist because I believe healing is possible. I believe much of what we carry did not begin with us, but it can shift with us. The ways we learned to survive, stay connected, earn love, or protect ourselves make sense in the context in which they developed. Healing is not about judging or erasing those parts of ourselves. It is about understanding them, tending to what was missed, and creating new possibilities. I believe insight matters, but healing also happens through the body, through relationships, and through experiences of safety and connection. Therapy can help us move from knowing something intellectually to feeling and living it differently. I also believe we are more than what happened to us. We can interrupt patterns, build self-trust, soften shame, and become more connected to our needs, boundaries, and inner voice. You do not have to become someone new. Sometimes healing is a process of coming home to who you have been underneath it all.
