About My Clients

I work best with clients who are young professionals (in their 20's-30's) or youth (10 and up). They're ready for real change. Clients who are a good fit for me might come to therapy because they have a hard time calming down, feel trapped by their traumas, struggle with perfectionism, or are just feeling like something is missing in their lives. I want you to feel like you can handle life’s ever-changing ups and downs - with a sense of purpose, self-awareness and stability.

My Background and Approach

My style of therapy is warm and nonjudgmental. When it comes to trauma, I don't believe you need to even consciously remember it to heal from it. I have experience working with trauma (especially sexual trauma and childhood abuse), anxiety, and depression from a psychodynamic/attachment lens, which I then pair with body-based modalities such as Brainspotting. This gets at what is in the thinking level of the brain brain as well as what's stuck in the body. We'll come together to look at how the present is intertwined with your past, and find ways that work for you to cope. I have over ten years of experience working in social justice fields with people experiencing domestic violence, sexual exploitation, and/or homelessness. The biggest honor in my life is that my clients have chosen to trust me to walk with them in their healing journey.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I became a therapist because I passionately want to help people recover. When I was a kid, I experienced my own traumas and diagnoses that led me to therapy. I had plenty of not-so-good experiences with therapists! I know first-hand how intimidating coming to therapy can be. If you've had poor experiences in therapy before, you were likely with a therapist who wasn't your good fit. It can take some trial and error to find the right therapist, so I offer free consultations to see if we might be that good fit. If you need help but don't know what questions to ask, that's okay too! You don't have to know what's wrong to ask for help.
