About My Clients
I have extensive experience working with all ages and utilize an eclectic approach to meet each individual’s unique needs. My work has led me to developing the philosophy that “healing starts with being human," meaning that you are not and never were a problem to be fixed, but a human who has only sought to survive. We can turn surviving into thriving.
My Background and Approach
I graduated with two Masters in Psychology and have a certification in life coaching. I have spent several years working in diverse areas with diverse populations across all age ranges which has led me to developing an eclectic approach to counseling. It is important for me to meet the individual where they are at and to offer specific treatment modalities that are tailored to the individual. I also specialize in brain-health education from a trauma informed lens as mental health is not always about one's "psyche" alone. Mental health can be influenced by a wide range of variables so it is important to me to ensure you have quality care which consists of me asking the right questions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we are capable of change if we choose to seek it. I have realized through my education, work experience, and life experience that we all have two choices and both involve some degree of pain: the pain of giving up or the pain of change. Growth is not easy, but that is why it is meaningful and fulfilling. I became a therapist because I personally know trauma, grief, and hardships all too well. I knew from a young age that I wanted to "help people" because asking for help is not a sign of weakness, but a sign of our humanness. We cannot be brave without fear and I hope that those who seek help recognize their strength by doing so.
