About My Clients
I work with individuals and couples, with a focus on somatic approaches to therapy and counseling for gay men. I focus on work with gay men, helping them navigate around themes of identity and belonging. I also focus on work with romance relationships. I help clients heal past relational wounds, date successfully, navigate current relationships with confidence, and create meaningful endings when breaking up.
My Background and Approach
My clients often give me the feedback that I am a more "active" and "engaged" type of therapist. I hold a highly relational frame - that the most important part of treatment is the therapeutic relationship between clinician and client. My master's degree is in somatic psychology, so I include the body in treatment session - this may look like breath work, talking about the body, exploring body practices like fitness/diet/yoga/etc., or I may use hands-on techniques with a client's permission. I help couples learn to notice and make use of the non-verbal communication being sent with the body, and to explore contact and touch as a part of therapy.
