About My Clients
I offer individual and family sessions specifically geared towards children, adolescents, teens and young adults to assist in exploring their identity and difficulties with finding direction in life. If you are a child or a teen dealing with low motivation, feelings of sadness, fears, anxiety, lack of confidence, etc., I look forward to helping you address these difficulties.
My Background and Approach
I take on an eclectic approach customized for each child, teen and family. Each session is approached with the intention of instilling hope towards making life easier. I use components of acceptance-based practices in conjunction with cognitive-behavioral therapy amongst other techniques and practices to help with anxiety and depression. I take on a collaborative approach to work as a team to create to create confidence to try new techniques to change various patterns of undesired behaviors. You will learn ways to approach challenging situations in your life instead of avoiding them.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Are you noticing that your family doesn’t talk anymore? Are you worried about your child’s decision making, grades, lack of motivation, and/or struggles with anxiety? Even the healthiest of families often go through phases of life that are difficult to deal with on their own. I believe that child and parent relationships are amongst the most important relationships humans have. Children can feel alone, misunderstood and disconnected from their parents at times. We can feel guilt and anger that negatively impact our relationships with our children, after a significant life transition such as divorce, move, substance use, etc. I believe that therapy can provide the spaces needed to explore and to establish new patterns.
