About My Clients
I work with members of the AAPI community who have experienced marginalization due to their intersection of identities (i.e. race, spirituality, sexuality, legal status, cultural/family background). Specifically, I work with individuals who have experienced trauma, interpersonal issues, and feelings of disempowerment as a result of the internalized cultural and societal messages they were exposed to that have further perpetuated an oppressive narrative around who they are.
My Background and Approach
In my practice, I operate as a culturally-sensitive, strength-based, eclectic therapist to meet you where you are at. My experiences include working with multiethnic populations with diverse set of issues in various settings, including community mental health, health clinic, non-profits, schools, and private settings. I work to build and foster a therapeutic alliance where we can collaborate together in creating a space for you to freely explore yourself and your lived experiences. I look forward to connecting and journeying with you during this pivotal moment in your life! Please call or email me for a free 15 minute consultation. 한국어 상담 가능합니다.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a 1.5 generation Korean-American, I often found myself navigating different spaces that were not affirming or safe due to the intersection of my identities. I hope that through the therapy process and the development of our therapeutic alliance, you can find comfort knowing that your lived experiences matter. Your stories deserve a platform to be heard and for you to tap into a source of empowerment that recreates a narrative that is of healing, purpose, and value. Knowing how mental health care and services are often not a priority for the undocumented community due to financial and cultural barriers, I reserve a few slots open for eligible individuals for sliding scale fees who meet criteria. It would be my pleasure and honor to journey with you during this moment in your life!
