My Background and Approach
My therapeutic approach is rooted in Gestalt Therapy, which is both existential and experiential. Existentially, we'll explore fundamental questions of identity and purpose, inviting meaning as a framework for understanding and ultimately releasing pain and suffering, fostering healing and growth. Gestalt Therapy is also experiential, emphasizing a return to the present moment – the 'Here and Now' – which holds the key to your freedom. By learning to inhabit the present, the complexities of reality often become more manageable and fluid. Furthermore, I recognize the profound impact of trauma, whether from specific events, childhood experiences, or accumulated stress. Understanding that 'The Body Keeps the Score,' we can work towards befriending and resetting your nervous system through modalities like EMDR and PAT, allowing you to experience each moment with renewed presence.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Hola, I'm a bi-cultural Chilean-Californian cishet male with a unique background spanning over two decades in engineering and more than ten years as a psychotherapist. This journey has cultivated a deep appreciation for bridging perspectives and connecting with diverse individuals and communities. My involvement in the psychedelic community includes serving as the Executive Director of the Santa Cruz Psychedelic Society. Spiritually, I resonate with Buddhist and Taoist philosophies, embracing an open approach rather than a specific lineage. I believe in the power of open source and the possibility of humanity evolving into a more loving and compassionate species as we uncover the magic of our universe.
