About My Clients
People that work with me are often seeking to find authenticity and meaning. Sometimes they're attempting to "put their life back together" after a significant loss or challenging transition. These people are interested in getting to the roots of their problematic thoughts and/or behaviors. By experimenting with new ways to cope, new ways to think, and exploring what is meaningful to you, we forge a new trail. One I would be honored to travel with you.
My Background and Approach
Trained in both the Humanistic/Existential and Cognitive/Behavioral modalities I use a blend of the two most frequently. I aim to validate and strengthen the truth that you, as a human being, are MORE than any diagnosis or experience. We then work together to create a treatment plan and pathway using techniques and interventions to assist you in the changes you want to make in your daily life. I received a B.S. in Psychology and Biology from the University of Washington before completing my Masters in Psychology at Seattle University. I've worked in residential treatment centers for children, teens, and adults. I've worked as a case manager/therapist at a local community mental health center before starting my private practice I've had open since 2019
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a white, male, cis-gendered individual I have benefited greatly from a life I didn't choose. But the reality is that this world is not yet as supportive and affirming as it could be for folks who live "outside the norm" and simply look very different from myself, regardless of if it's a choice or not. I look to use my privilege and power to help and support any who look to change their lives, to find authenticity and meaning. I believe understanding choice and the "why" is the core of this work. I truly value the time and treasure other people share with me and try to continue helping and supporting anyone who takes a chance on me to find change, love, and peace.
