About My Clients
My clients are artists and creatives- neurodivergent, highly sensitive "black-sheep" healing from complex trauma and longing to live authentically in a toxic culture. You may find yourself stuck in distressing patterns that are affecting your relationships, self-worth and health. Together we can explore how these patterns actually make sense given your lived experience. We will reduce shame ,making space for compassion & healing, freeing you to live the life you want.
My Background and Approach
From my perspective, therapy is not about staying stuck in the past. It is about living more fully in the present, rooted and connected to your values and hopes for the future. The very fact that you are here seeking therapy speaks to your inherent resourcefulness and movement towards hope and change. Through our work together we will balance acceptance and change, connecting the dots between present and past, empowering you to live a fulfilling and authentic life full of possibility. So often, the symptoms causing us problems started out as our best attempts to survive and cope. So rather than to “fix” what is wrong with you, together we will approach all parts of you with respect and curiosity as you seek meaning, growth and hope. I have 12 years experience working in all levels of clinical care. I take an integrative approach and draw from Parts Work,Narrative Therapy, Trauma-Informed, Somatic and Attachment Based Therapies, as well as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Through working with some of the most marginalized and disaffected populations, I have come to understand that human beings are always striving towards wholeness. Every person has a story and is doing their best in the context of those stories. For me, therapy is a personal, political and spiritual practice where I have a deep commitment to honoring your journey and my own. I am an artist, musician, highly sensitive and neurodivergent person myself. I use music to channel injustice, rage, trauma and pain into resistance, joy and regulation. I have also worked for years as a music therapist with teens and young adults where we use music to process trauma, affirm identity, express and regulate emotions, and foster connection and hope. I am passionate and dedicated to this creative and meaningful work and to all the remarkable people I am able to connect with. Reach out and schedule a free consult to explore working together.
