About My Clients

I consider it an honor to work alongside clients as they heal from the effects of ongoing trauma. You may not have considered what you have experienced as "trauma", you may even minimize what you've been through, and yet still find yourself stuck in distressing patterns that are affecting your relationships, self-worth, emotions and health. You and your story deserve compassion and understanding, as you re-connect with your own authenticity and re-claim your agency in life.

My Background and Approach

From my perspective, therapy is not about staying stuck in the past. It is about living more fully in the present, rooted and connected to your values and hopes for the future. The very fact that you are here seeking therapy speaks to your inherent resourcefulness and movement towards hope and change. Through our work together we will balance acceptance and change, connecting the dots between present and past, empowering you to live a fulfilling and authentic life full of possibility. So often, the symptoms causing us problems started out as our best attempts to survive and cope. So rather than to “fix” what is wrong with you, together we will approach all parts of you with respect and curiosity as you seek meaning, growth and hope. I have 10 years experience working in all levels of clinical care. I take an integrative approach and draw from Narrative Therapy, Trauma-Informed, Somatic and Attachment Based Therapies, as well as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Through working with some of the most marginalized and disaffected populations, I have come to understand that human beings are always striving towards wholeness. Every person has a story and is doing their best in the context of those stories. For me, therapy is a personal and spiritual practice where I have a deep commitment to honoring your journey and my own. I am also an artist and musician. I spent several years as a professional touring musician, songwriter and recording artist. I continue to write, record and perform and also compose for film and media. Making music brings me life and balance. I have also worked for years as a music therapist with teens and young adults where we use music to process trauma, express and regulate emotions, foster connection and hope. I am passionate and dedicated to this creative and meaningful work and to all the remarkable people I am able to connect with. Reach out and schedule a free consult to explore working together.
