About My Clients
I understand what it takes to make that first step towards talking with someone. I want to support your courage and your journey towards health. Whether you are seeking help for a specific issue, or just want to talk through a certain thought or situation, I am focused on creating a safe and trusting space for clients to talk and explore. I have experience helping teenagers, adults, and couples with stress and anxiety, depression, relationship issues, family conflict, and parenting issues.
My Background and Approach
After licensure, I went on to earn my MHSP designation. I am trained in individual and couples therapy and have also led therapeutic and educational groups on Boundaries and Parenting. I believe there is value in and a benefit to venting and talking with someone. While we may get the support we need from our friends or family, many times we need that unbiased and nonjudgmental voice to help us see all possible angles or solutions. My approach would typically be referred to as CBT or cognitive behavioral therapy. CBT is conversational talk therapy with a focus on the now and moving forward. I personally tend to lean towards a more direct approach when talking through issues expressed by clients. I feel clients come to therapy for more than just information, more than some "uh-huhs" and head nods. While it is important for clients to come to their own conclusions and decisions, when appropriate, I actively engage in sessions to provide support and guidance throughout the process.
