About My Clients
My clients tend to be Gifted/ADHD/Twice-Exceptional, and/or creative. I enjoy working with teenagers & their families, and couples. My ideal client seeks my help in order to be understood and learn skills to better communicate their needs. I enjoy helping and I want to be a good fit as your therapist. I encourage a supportive, safe and compassionate environment. I am here to facilitate your journey with you as a team. Together we can achieve hard things!
My Background and Approach
I specialize in giftedness/ADHD/Twice-Exceptionality, and creativity (teens & adult individuals, relationships & family therapy). In addition to this I offer post-religious therapy (including religious trauma syndrome), I also continuously enroll in further education courses and certification classes; my specialties are ever sharpening because I love to learn and expand how I can assist others. My approach is very much collaborative; you make the goals, I supply the open support and teaching of skills while together we make progress and assess as we go. I like to think of myself as training wheels: I am here for you as you need but the ultimate goal is you are capable of going on without me. I also welcome my clients to keep in touch and reach out after conclusion if there is ever a need for a "tune up" or when some new difficult events happens my "door" is always open.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in supporting my clients in their lives and honoring them as experts in their own experiences. The core to making counseling work is the relationship between the counselor and the client. I strongly believe that you know your story best, and it is my job to respect and support that. I value advocating for those who need support and giving voice to the voiceless. I use many psychoeducational approaches and techniques in my practice so that you can gain understanding of yourself and how to mend your current and future issues. I support Black Lives Matter and the LGBTQIA+ communities.
