About My Clients
Are you feeling overwhelmed with parenting your child/teen? Maybe you struggle to figure out what your child needs/wants. Perhaps your child/teen worries a lot, is often sad, has a hard time managing anger, struggles to get along with others, and/or acts without thinking. Does your teenager refuse to talk to you? Are you and your loved ones feeling anxious, depressed, hopeless, confused, and/or irritable lately? Having a hard time readjusting to family life after returning from a deployment?
My Background and Approach
Through play, cognitive and behavior modification, psychoeducation, art, humor, encouragement, and unconditional support, I teach children and teens coping strategies to manage their emotions and behaviors, while building their self-esteem, improving social skills. Through a collaborative approach, I help facilitate healthier relationship dynamics, while increasing your family’s bonds and connections with each other. I specialize in treating preschool aged children. I have five years of experience using Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), an evidence-based treatment, designed to help families manage behavior and emotion problems for children ages 2-7 years old. I provide you with additional tools for your parenting toolbox to foster positive communication and to strengthen relationships. I am Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) trained and use it to address trauma-related issues, such as sexual/physical abuse, natural disasters, violence, PTSD, divorce, and grief.
