Children communicate through their play. When children have limited verbal skills, their play is especially vital to them navigating their world. I often use a client-centered approach and allow children to explore and process their problems. I use play to guide children and teens and help them develop social skills, learn healthy communication techniques, practice coping strategies, process trauma, and work through their issues. Play helps build self-esteem and strengthens relationships.

Based on a genuine, open, nonjudgmental therapeutic relationship.

Focused on understanding the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I provide families psychoeducation and help them recognize how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are impacting their lives. Through a collaborative effort, families identify the negative patterns and replace them with healthy ones. Parents learn how to reshape behaviors. This process can be implemented in a short or brief period or it can occur over a longer period of time if the family needs.
