About My Clients
That overwhelming feeling when you think about having to stand up for yourself, say your opinion, or say no to people in your life can be debilitating. So, you might go along with whatever anyone says just to avoid the confrontation. When you are trying to fall asleep you replay all the mistakes you made. Through therapy you can learn how to stand by your decisions, be nice to yourself, and fall asleep feeling you are good enough. I want to you to be able to help you live a life you are proud of
My Background and Approach
Since I was 15 years old I have been a part of the movement against sexual violence. During my teenage years, I was volunteering with a local rape crisis center which is when my passion started for helping people heal from trauma. For the past 9 years I have experience working in clinical mental health settings. I often work with people who struggle with perfectionism, people pleasing, feeling safe in the world, and difficulty saying no or setting boundaries. Together, we can look at how these issues have impacted your life and ways to resolve them. I have completed training in EMDR and it is one of my favorite treatments to use with my clients. This type of treatment helps decrease stress related to upsetting memories, improve positive thoughts about yourself, and may give you clarity to past, present, or future scenarios. During therapy, we will talk about situations that upset you and empowering ways to overcome them.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
A couple movements that help shape my work with survivors of trauma are the Start By Believing and Me Too movements. I believe you are doing the best that you can with the knowledge you have. I hope to help you never feel alone with anything you have experienced and at the bare minimum I will be someone who supports you through your difficult times.
